Short answer: Revolut sells eSIM data for Egypt inside its app, to Revolut customers. Its Egypt page, read on 23 October 2026, lists five fixed packs: 1 GB for 7 days, and 3, 5, 10 or 20 GB for 30 days, with plans "starting from €1.50". It does not show the price of each pack on the web, does not name the Egyptian network, and has no unlimited plan. If you already use Revolut and need a few gigabytes, it is convenient. If you want data that does not run out, or do not have a Revolut account, an unlimited plan by length is simpler.
Revolut's Egypt packs
| Data | Valid | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 7 days | In the Revolut app only |
| 3 GB | 30 days | In the Revolut app only |
| 5 GB | 30 days | In the Revolut app only |
| 10 GB | 30 days | In the Revolut app only |
| 20 GB | 30 days | In the Revolut app only |
The web page shows "Buy in-app" next to each pack. The only figure on the page is "from €1.50", the lowest price; it does not say which pack that is. To see the other prices you need the app and an account. We do not quote prices we could not read.
What you need to buy it
- A Revolut account. The page's steps start with "Join Revolut": download the app on an eSIM-compatible phone and sign up.
- The app's eSIM section. In the app, Lifestyle, then eSIM: choose Egypt and the amount of data.
- Install from the app. The eSIM is installed and activated from the same section, and you can check usage and add data there.
Opening an account is a bank-style sign-up, not a quick checkout, so do it at home rather than at the airport. Revolut also lets customers pay for data with RevPoints, from 100 points, and its Ultra subscription includes 3 GB of global data every month.
Fixed gigabytes or unlimited: which suits Egypt
A fixed pack is cheapest when you know you will use little: a long stay mostly on hotel Wi-Fi, or data only for maps and messages. The risk is running out in the middle of a day out, then topping up from the street. Revolut's app warns you when you are running low, which helps.
An unlimited plan by length removes the counting. Ours has no gigabyte counter: about 1 GB a day at full 4G speed, then 512 Kbps until the next day, for 1 to 30 days. It suits a trip where your phone is your map, your taxi app and your camera backup every day, or where you share data with a second device by hotspot. How much a typical week uses is discussed in how much data for a week in Egypt.
Keeping your own number
Revolut's page makes the same point we do: with dual SIM, your physical SIM stays in the phone, so you keep your number for calls and texts from home while the eSIM carries the data. With either eSIM, remember two settings on landing: data roaming on for the eSIM line, and mobile data set to the eSIM, not to your home SIM. Otherwise your home operator may charge you its Egypt rates. The order is in phone settings on landing in Cairo, and if nothing connects, see phone not working in Egypt.

Our prices on 23 October 2026: €18.00 for 3 days, €33.00 for 7 days, €46.00 for 15 days, €86.00 for 30 days. We cannot set them against Revolut's packs, because Revolut's prices per pack are only in its app.
When to choose Revolut
- You already have a Revolut account and its app on your phone.
- You expect to use little data and are happy to top up when it runs out.
- You have RevPoints to spend, or an Ultra subscription with global data included.
When to choose our plan
- You have no Revolut account, or do not want a banking app to buy data.
- You want to know every price before paying, and data that does not run out.
- You want three named networks, Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt and e& Egypt, and hotspot on every plan.
- You want the QR code on screen and by e-mail within seconds of payment, no app, and our refund rule: within 30 days of purchase, as long as the plan has not started and can be cancelled with our supplier.
Check that your phone takes an eSIM and is unlocked first: check your model. If you are already in Egypt with no data, our plans can be bought on hotel Wi-Fi in a few minutes; see already in Egypt: buy an eSIM after arrival. All our lengths are on our plans page.
Other options for Egypt
We read the Egypt pages of the other main sellers: Airalo, Holafly, Nomad, Saily, Ubigi and Maya Mobile, all compared in our Egypt eSIM comparison. If you would rather buy a local SIM on arrival, the operators' own tourist prices are in Egypt tourist SIM card prices.
