Short answer: on 5 October 2026, Saily's Egypt page sold fixed data packs from €7.99 (1 GB for 7 days) to €38.49 (20 GB for 30 days), and unlimited plans for 10 to 30 days from €31.99 to €79.99, with 3 GB a day at full speed and up to 1 Mbps after that. At 10, 15 and 30 days it is cheaper than us and gives three times our daily full-speed data. Saily sells no unlimited plan shorter than 10 days, does not name its Egyptian network, and works through an app. We sell a competing eSIM, so read this page with that in mind; every figure is Saily's own, as published.
Update, 13 October 2026. All seven sellers were read again on 13 October. Only Airalo had changed: its unlimited plans went from €26.00 to €26.50 for 5 days, from €32.00 to €32.50 for 10 days and from €82.50 to €83.00 for 30 days. The Airalo figures on this page are now those of 13 October; the other sellers' prices had not moved since they were last read. Nomad's dollar prices are unchanged; the euro amounts quoted from its page data move with the exchange rate (7 days: €24.00 on 8 October, €24.09 on 13 October).
Update, 8 October 2026. Saily's prices were read again and had not changed. Two more sellers were read that day, and one changes the 30-day result: Ubigi sells 30 days of unlimited data at €69.00, with 5 GB a day, below Saily's €79.99. At 15 days Saily (€43.49) stays just below Ubigi (€44.00). Maya Mobile charges US dollars for a global plan: $27.99 for 14 days and $49.99 for 30 days. See our seven-seller comparison.
Who Saily is
Saily is a travel eSIM app. Its own page presents the product that way: “Just download the Saily app, pick your data plan”. A review quoted on the same page describes it as backed by the NordVPN brand, which explains the security features that come with it: a virtual location, an ad blocker and protection against malicious sites.
Like us and like every other travel eSIM seller, Saily does not run a mobile network in Egypt. It buys access to Egyptian operators' networks. Unlike Airalo, Holafly, Nomad and us, its Egypt page does not say which ones: it speaks of “local network carriers” and “Egypt's best networks”.
Saily's fixed packs for Egypt
| Data | Validity | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 7 days | €7.99 |
| 3 GB | 30 days | €13.49 |
| 5 GB | 30 days | €17.99 |
| 10 GB | 30 days | €30.49 |
| 20 GB | 30 days | €38.49 |
The page marks the 10 GB pack as its “Best Choice”. All prices were displayed in euros, and each purchase is shown with 3% back in Saily credits, usable on a later purchase.
A fixed pack is the right product if you know roughly how much you use, or if your hotel Wi-Fi does most of the work. 5 GB for 30 days at €17.99 costs about half our 7-day unlimited plan (€33.00). If 5 GB is enough for your week, Saily is plainly the cheaper choice, and we have nothing to put against it: we do not sell fixed packs. If you run out, the page says you top up in the app and the new pack starts when the first is finished.
Saily's unlimited plans for Egypt
| Duration | Price |
|---|---|
| 10 days | €31.99 |
| 15 days | €43.49 |
| 20 days | €53.49 |
| 25 days | €66.49 |
| 30 days | €79.99 |
The page shows one “Unlimited GB” card with a duration selector. We read the price of each duration from the page's own data, where each has its own product reference.
What unlimited means here is stated in the plan details: “3GB/Day without a speed limit”, then “unlimited data at up to 1 Mbps”. That is the same rule as Airalo's, more generous than Nomad's 2 GB, and three times ours.
One inconsistency on Saily's page. Its FAQ, lower on the same page, answers the question “Does Saily offer unlimited data plans for Egypt?” with: “Saily doesn't offer unlimited data plans for Egypt just yet”. And its description says plans range “from 1 GB to 10 GB”, although a 20 GB pack and the unlimited card are both on sale above. We report what the page sells and what it says; the FAQ was probably written before the unlimited plans were added. If you want an unlimited Saily plan, check that it is still offered when you buy.
There is no unlimited plan for less than 10 days. For a week, Saily's answer is a fixed pack.
You need the app
This is the main practical difference with us. Saily's three steps are: choose a plan, download the Saily app, then set up the eSIM by following the instructions in the app and turn data roaming on.
For many travellers that is an advantage. The app shows the remaining data, lets you top up, and keeps a single eSIM that you reuse in other countries instead of installing a new one each time. If you travel several times a year, that is convenient.
It is less convenient in three situations: you are buying for someone else, such as a parent who will not install and sign in to an app; you want to hand a QR code to a colleague; or you simply prefer not to add an account for a one-week trip. With us there is no app and no account. You pay, the QR code is displayed and e-mailed, and it can be forwarded to the person who will use it.
A phone number with Saily: what it is and is not
Saily's Egypt page says that SMS and calls are available “with a Saily phone number”. Reading on, this is a US phone number that you add in the app, paired with a separate plan for calls and text messages, activated after an identity verification. The page notes that call minutes cover both incoming and outgoing calls.
It is a real feature, which we did not find on the Egypt pages of the other six sellers, ours included. Be clear about what it gives: a second number, American, usable for ordinary calls through the app. It is not an Egyptian number. A hotel or a driver in Egypt who calls it is dialling the United States. If you need to be reachable on a local number, only an Egyptian operator's line does that. We cover the question in Egypt eSIM with a phone number.
Saily's page also says that, with a data plan only, “you can call through apps (VoIP), such as WhatsApp, FaceTime, and Facebook Messenger”. In Egypt that deserves a caution that the page does not give: internet calling is restricted there and does not always connect, whatever the eSIM. See does WhatsApp calling work in Egypt.
Activation: the 180-day window
Saily's page states that all plans have a 180-day activation period, and gives the date: a plan bought on the day we read the page and not activated by 3 April 2027 “will be activated automatically”. Before that, the plan starts by itself when you arrive at your destination with the eSIM turned on and roaming enabled.
Six months is comfortable for a holiday booked in advance. It is longer than Nomad's 60 days. With us, the plan starts at the first connection to an Egyptian network.
Saily against us, line by line
| Saily | eSIM Égypte | |
|---|---|---|
| Full-speed data per day (unlimited plans) | 3 GB, then up to 1 Mbps | About 1 GB, then 512 Kbps |
| Unlimited durations | 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 days | 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days |
| Fixed data packs | 1 GB for 7 days; 3, 5, 10 and 20 GB for 30 days | None |
| Networks in Egypt | Not named: “local network carriers” | Vodafone, Orange and e& |

| Phone number | No Egyptian number; a US number with a separate call and text plan, in the app | None: data only |
| When the plan starts | Automatically on arrival; 180-day activation period, then it activates by itself | At the first connection to an Egyptian network |
| How you install it | In the Saily app | QR code on the confirmation page and by e-mail; no app, no account |
| Extras | One eSIM reused for other countries; security features; credits back on purchases | None |
| Support | 24/7 chat, according to its page | By e-mail, in French and English |
The line about networks is the one where we have something concrete to offer. Our supplier's catalogue lists Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt and e& Egypt for every one of our plans. Saily may well use good networks; its page simply does not tell you which, so you cannot check coverage for a particular place before buying. Its page lists speeds as “3G/4G/LTE/5G, depending on local network providers”. Egypt's operators launched commercial 5G in June 2025; whether a travel eSIM reaches it depends on each seller's roaming agreements, which Saily's page does not detail. We sell our own plans as 4G LTE.
Prices: Saily against the four others
Unlimited plans, euros, read on 5 October 2026 from each seller's own Egypt page. Lowest price per row in bold; a dash means no unlimited plan of that length.
| Duration | eSIM Égypte | Saily | Airalo | Holafly | Nomad |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 day | €6.50 | — | — | €6.90 | — |
| 3 days | €18.00 | — | €18.00 | €18.90 | €12.44 |
| 5 days | €26.00 | — | €26.50 | €26.90 | €18.66 |

| 15 days | €46.00 | €43.49 | €45.00 | €46.90 | — |
| 30 days | €86.00 | €79.99 | €83.00 | €90.50 | — |
- 1 to 7 days: Saily sells no unlimited plan. Nomad is the cheapest from 3 to 7 days; we are the cheapest for a single day, at €6.50.
- 10 days: Nomad €31.11, Saily €31.99, Airalo €32.50, us €36.00, Holafly €36.90.
- 15 days: Saily is the cheapest at €43.49. Ubigi is €44.00, Airalo €45.00, we are €46.00, Holafly €46.90.
- 30 days: Ubigi is the cheapest at €69.00, ahead of Saily at €79.99. Airalo is €83.00, we are €86.00, Holafly €90.50.
- 20 and 25 days: Saily is the only one of the seven with a plan of exactly that length (€53.49 and €66.49); Holafly lets you choose any number of days.
Against us, Saily is lower by €4.01 at 10 days, €2.51 at 15 days and €6.01 at 30 days, with three times the daily full-speed allowance. Nomad's euro figures are those in its page data for its euro option; its page displays dollars. We publish this knowing how it reads. For a stay of ten days or more where price and volume decide, Saily or Airalo is the better buy.
Where we are the better choice
We would not write this page if there were no case for us. There are four.
- Short stays. Saily has no unlimited plan under 10 days. We sell 1, 3, 5 and 7 days at €6.50, €18.00, €26.00 and €33.00. For a long weekend in Cairo or a stopover, a 10-day plan is more than you need.
- Known networks, and three of them. On a Nile cruise, in the Western Desert or in inner Sinai, being able to fall back on another operator matters. See our coverage page.
- No app. A QR code by e-mail, which you can forward.
- Egypt only, in French and English. We sell one country and answer questions about it ourselves.
And two cases where we are not: a stay of 10 days or more chosen on price, and heavy daily use. We say so above and we repeat it here.
What we could not verify about Saily
- The Egyptian network or networks it uses. Not stated on its Egypt page.
- Its refund terms. Refunds appear as a line in a comparison table on its page; we did not read the policy and state nothing about it.
- The price of the US number and of its call and text plans. Not on the Egypt page.
- Real speeds in Egypt. We have not tested a Saily eSIM in Egypt. The customer quotes on its page that name a place name other destinations.
- Whether the unlimited plans will stay on sale, given the FAQ answer quoted above.
Which one should you take?
- Ten days to a month, price first: Saily, or Airalo, which is close behind.
- Heavy use every day: Saily or Airalo, for 3 GB a day.
- A week, light use: a Saily or Nomad fixed pack.
- A week, unlimited: Nomad on price; us for three networks and no app. See our plans.
- One to five days: us or Nomad; Saily has nothing unlimited for that length.
- You need ordinary calls from a number: Saily's US number is the only such option we found among the five, but it is not Egyptian.
- You travel often and want one app for every country: Saily.
- You are buying for someone else, or want no app: us.
For the other brands, see our pages on Airalo, Holafly and Nomad, and the full comparison.
