Is my phone compatible?
iPhone XS and XR (2018) and every later iPhone, including iPhone SE 2nd gen (2020) and 3rd gen (2022). Galaxy S22 and later, plus Z Flip/Fold and Note 20. Google Pixel 4 and later. Cellular iPad Pro/Air/mini (2018+). Galaxy S20/S21 and Pixel 3/3a depend on model and region — check yours on our
compatibility page. The phone must be carrier-unlocked.
What does “unlimited” actually mean?
There is no total data cap and the connection is never cut off, so your data cannot run out — only the validity period ends. Each day you get about 1 GB at full 4G LTE speed; after that the speed drops to 512 Kbps until the next daily reset. At 512 Kbps WhatsApp, Maps, e-mail and browsing all work — HD video streaming does not.
When does my plan start?
On your first connection to the Egyptian network — not at purchase, not at install. So you can install the eSIM at home before you fly without starting the clock.
Will I get an Egyptian phone number?
No. This is a data-only eSIM: no Egyptian number, no calls and no SMS. Your usual SIM stays active alongside it for your own number, calls and texts. Apps that run over data — WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, FaceTime — work normally.
How do I receive and install it?
Instantly by e-mail, as a QR code. On your phone: Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM, then scan the code. It installs in seconds. No account to create, no app to install.
Is hotspot / tethering included?
Yes, on every plan whatever the duration. Personal hotspot works normally; shared data comes out of the same ~1 GB of full-speed data per day.
Which network will I be on, and where does it work?
Egypt’s main networks: Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt and e& Egypt, on nationwide 4G LTE — Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, the Red Sea resorts (Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam) and the Nile between Luxor and Aswan. 5G is only in pilot trials in parts of Cairo and Alexandria. Remote areas — inner Sinai, the Western Desert oases (Siwa, Bahariya) and the White Desert — depend on local network reach, as with any Egyptian SIM.
